The photographs below are meant to read as a clinical study on vans. They were all taken with a 4x5 large format camera on Kodak 4x5 Portra 160 speed color negative film.
& in your darkest dreams
The following nine images are part of a series entitled “Exposure Therapy”. These photographs were all taken using a 4x5 large format camera, which allows distortion to happen to the images. The purpose of this project was to show that “not everything is as it may appear”. To the naked eye, these vans looked completely normal, similar to the ones in the series above. The distortion enables the mind to push past that normalcy and wonder what could be going on inside. We were always taught about stranger danger and the man with free candy in his van when we were younger… why should that stop now just because we’ve grown up?
